POSTURE: core strength
Workout: core muscles
Maintaining a good posture helps you to carry out every day, functional activities safely, and can prevent back pain in the future. By looking after the way you hold your body, you’re helping your muscles, ligaments and bones to work and wear as they should.
But it’s not just about having a strong, straight back – you can help your body by ensuring that all the supporting, core muscles (such as your abdominal muscles) are in good shape too.
Your abdominal muscles attach to your spine, ribs and pelvis and so are very important in maintaining a good posture and enhancing your core strength.
Your core muscles help your balance, without their strength it would be difficult to function normally in activities we take for granted such as standing, walking or even sitting.
